The Heartland Healthcare Coalition (HHC) was officially formed in 1990 by a group of employers from the Peoria and Bloomington/Normal area. The initial focus of the group was on controlling skyrocketing health care costs in Central Illinois. Membership has grown substantially since our 1990 inception with more than 360,000 lives now represented by our HHC members employers. Today, the coalition represents employers in manufacturing, service industries, government, health care and education throughout central and southern Illinois and eastern Iowa.
